LYDIA TOPE

    Lydia Tope, daughter of George Tope and Elizabeth Bower and twin to Abram Tope [note 1], was born 22 October 1809 [note 2]and died 22 December 1890 in Palermo, Carroll Co., Ohio.  She married  Elisha McQueen, son of William Henry McQueen,  about 1826 in Carroll Co., Ohio.  He was born 9 August 1802 [note 3] in Cross Creek, Washington Co., Pennsylvania, and died 25 February 1890 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 4]  Lydia and Elisha are buried in the Tabor Cemetery, Carroll Co., Ohio.
    Lydia and Elisha had six children (see note 5):
  1. Mary McQueen was born 13 December 1828 in Perry, Carroll Co., Ohio and died 23 January 1889 in Harlan, Shelby Co., Iowa. She married James Casey and they had three children: William, George and Rachel Casey
  2. Malinda M. McQueen was born 4 December 1832 in Perry, Carroll Co., Ohio and died 17 July 1896 in Perry, Carroll Co., Ohio.  She married Joseph Tripp on 17 January 1850 [note 6].  Joseph was born about 1824 in Pennsylvania and died in 22 April 1877 [note 7]. Joseph is buried in Palermo Cemetery, Carroll Co., Ohio [note 8].
    Malinda and Joseph had five children:
    1. Margaret Margaret Tripp was born in Orange Twp, Carroll Co., Ohio and married James Pillers [note 9].
    2. Ann R. Tripp married Richard Brooks [note 10].
    3. Lydia Tripp married Frank Crumrine.
      "B. F. Crumrine, 83, of Akron, died Saturday morning, March 1, at his home. He was born in Carroll-co in 1847. Mr. Crumrine married Lydia Tripp of Carroll-co. He went to Akron to work for his uncle, M. H. Crumrine, in 1871. He was a member of the I. O. O. F., the Fifth Year club of Akron, and the Grace Reformed church. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Charles Crumrine, of Cuyahoga Falls and a daughter, Mrs. Maurice Simon, of Akron. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home. Burial was made in Glendale cemetery." [note 11]
    4. Hettie S. Tripp married Mansfield E. Vorhes.
    5. Ellsworth Elmer Tripp married Rebecca Brackin.
  3. George McQueen was born 26 February 1834 in Perry, Carroll Co., Ohio.
  4. Levi McQueen was born 5 April 1838 in Carroll Co., Ohio and died 27 December 1850 in Perry Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio.
  5. Ann Rachel McQueen was born 14 October 1841 in Perry Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio and died in May 1873.  She married John Knight.
  6. Samuel McQueen was born in 1848 in Perry Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio.
