Levi Tope, son of George Tope and Maria Elizabeth Bower,
was born 25 December 1813 in Yellow
Creek,
Jefferson Co.,
Ohio, and died 14 November 1889 in Willshire Twp., Van
Wert
Co.,
Ohio.
He married
Sarah Davis, daughter of David Davis and Elizabeth
Melville.

1838 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 2],

was later
taken into newly formed Allen County, Ohio.
Although Melancthon noted "it was

Levi purchased 155 acres on 12 May 1862 in Willshire Twp [note 4].
