TOPE FAMILY PAGE

   James Fremont Tope, son of George William Tope and Elizabeth Donaldson, was born 27 January 1863, and died 7 March 1949 [note 1].  He married Martha "Mattie" L. Warner[note 2],  was born 8 September 1865 and died 28 August  1891.
    James and Mattie had three  children:

1. Chester Tope was born 15 March 1886 and died 1 April 1886.
2. Vossie  E. Tope was born  7 August 1887 and died 11 November 1955.  She married Thomas R.  Noggle, and they had two children:
   
1. Robert E. Noggle was born 20 July 1913  and died 24 October 1972 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.
2. James E. Noggle was born 7 January 1917 and died 7 October  1994 in Fort Myers, Lee Co., Florida.
3. Laura P. Tope was born 21 March 1890 and died 3 October 1925. She married Walter Carl  Gundelfinger on 6 March 1910.

    After Martha died in 1891, James married  Susie (Susannah) Thornton on 8 November 1892.  Susannah was born 16 December 1832 [note 3]and died 2 April 1932 in Hillsborough Co., Florida [note 4].  She prevously was married to Henry Warden Thornton.
    James and Susannah had two children:

1. Heber Roy Tope was born 9 April 1894 and died 8 March 1967 in Tampa, Hillsborough  Co., Florida [note 5].  He married Marie Humerick on 4 January 1917.  Marie was born 17 February 1894, died 27 December 1981,  Hillsborough Co., Florida [note 6]. They had a son, Carroll W. Tope [note 7].
2. Emmet Emerson Tope was born  1 November 1895 and died 13 April 1987 in Riverview, Hillsborough  County, Florida [note 8]. Emmet married Myrtle Denny, daughter of Obediah Liston Denney and Isa Dorah Stevens [note 9], on 31 October 1918.
