TOPE FAMILY PAGE

    Hiram Tope, son of George Tope and Maria Elizabeth Bower,  was born about 1819 and died 1 June 1894.  He married  Eliza Brackin , daughter of Cornelius Brackin, on 14 January 1847 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 1].  Hiram and Eliza are buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Carroll Co., Ohio.
Hiram and Eliza had seven children:

1. Mary Elizabeth Tope, married Lewis Lotz.
2. George Tope was born 3 October 1857 and died 25 August 1860, aged [note 2].
3. Cornelius Tope married  Anna Nivin on 15 September 1874 inCarroll Co., Ohio [note 3].
4. Rebecca Tope.
5. Margaret (Maggie) Tope died  20 July 1896.  She married Stewart Hess, son of Moses Hess and Susan Dayhuff [note 4], and lived near Algonquin, Ohio. They had two children: Harry and Florence. Maggie and Stewart are buried in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Carroll Co., Ohio. See Hess links.
6. Samuel H. Tope was born 1 August 1862 in Union Township, Carroll Co., Ohio, and died  3 August 1918 in Tenino, Thurston Co., Washington.   He married Eva Reno Elder on 27 August 1892  in Ohio. Eva was born 15 Jun 1873 in Kansas and died 1962.   Samuel is buried in Centralia, Lewis Co.,  Washington [note 5].
7. Chastina Tope was born 29 February 1856 and died  7 August 1856 [note 6].
