Tope

The name of his mother is not
known. He died on 12 August 1845 in Carroll County, Ohio [
note 3].
After the death of his first wife, he married
Maria Elizabeth
Bower, daughter of Conrad Bower and Marie Eva --- [note
4],
on 3 June 1804 in
Jefferson County, Ohio [
note
5]. Elizabeth was born
in 1785 in
Virginia, and died 7 May 1855 [
note 6.
Elizabeth had a prior marriage to Christopher Ridenour, who
died between 1801 and 1803 [
note 7].
George and
Elizabeth had 12
children

(a.k.a. Barbary)
Tope was born 16 March 1805 and died 9
February 1896 in Union Twp, Carroll Co., Ohio. She was
married first to Isaac Whiteman,
and they had one child, Isaac
Whiteman, born 1 June 1823 and died 5 June 1829. Mr.
Whiteman
died suddenly and she later Samuel McQueen.
Samuel McQueen was born 23 October 1792 and died 28
May 1875 [note 8].
- David McQueen married
Nancy Buck on 6 October 1864 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note
9].
- John Minor McQueen married Mary A. Tripp,
daughter of Joseph Tripp and Malinda McQueen, on 17 January 1850 in
Carroll Co., Ohio. Mary was born in 1831. [note

- Catherine
(a.k.a. Katie)
Tope was born in 1807 in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio and died 20 January 1890

Rigby on 5 March 1826 in Harrison Co., Ohio. Catherine and
Augustus had six children:

Fresh, on 16 August 1849 in Carroll co., Ohio [note
12]. William was born 1 November 1829 in Cannonsbury,
Pennsylvania, and died 28 May 1904 in Bayard, Guthrie Co., Iowa.
