TOPE FAMILY PAGE

   George Tope, son of George Tope and Catherine Straddler,  was born in 1782. He married Mrs. Elizabeth Allbaugh (nee Everhart) of Jefferson county, Ohio, about 1809.  George is buried in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, formerly Capper's graveyard.  Elizabeth died in 1855 and is buried in Franklin cemetery, Franklin county, 0hio [note 1].
    George and Elizabeth had six children.  The first four were born in Centerville, Jefferson Co. (now Carrolton, Carroll Co.), Ohio and the last two in Carrollton:

1. Henry Tope
2. Catharine Tope married --- Palmer in Franklin county, 0hio.  Catharine died in Franklin County, Ohio, and Mr. Palmer died in the Mexican War.
   They had five children:
   1. Martin Palmer
   2. William Palmer
   3. Cynthia Ann Palmer
   4. Mary Elizabeth Palmer
   5. Margaret Palmer
3. George William Tope
4. Jacob Tope
5. Stephen Tope
6. John J. Tope was born around 1828 or 1832 and married Mary Tope on 29 August 1852 in Jackson County, Ohio [note 2].
   John and Mary had four children:
   1. Franklin Tope
   2. William Tope
   3. Cordelia Tope
   4. Loa Tope
