	George Washington Tope, son of George Tope and Elizabeth Everhart,  was born about 1819 in Jefferson Co., Ohio. He married Elizabeth Donaldson, daughter of William Donaldson, on 15 April 1840 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 2].  She was born 22 Sep 1822 in Schenectady, New York, and died 13 Nov 1899 in Gallia Co., Ohio.  George and Elizabeth are buried in the White Cemetery, Gallia Co., Ohio [note 3].

George and Elizabeth had twelve children:

1. William George Tope 
2. Elizabeth J. Tope was born 23 Dec 1842 in Gallia Co., Ohio, and died 4 November 1901.  She married William Drummons on 4 July 1866 in Gallia Co., Ohio [note 3].  Elizabeth and William had eight children: George married Alice Smith, Richard married Mattie Hudson, Robert married Ella Philips, Cora, Dorha, Liza, Rossa, and one died in infancy. Dorha married James Hines.
3. Cristy Ann Tope was born after 1850, Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 8 July 1847, Carroll Co., Ohio.
4. John H. Tope was born November 16, 1846, Carroll Co., Ohio, and died January 13, 1929.  He married Mary F. Huron. She died 29 Jan 1884 in Carroll Co., Ohio.  John and Mary had five children:  William, Enos, Harry,  Emma, and Wilson G. Tope.
5. Angeline Tope
6. Mary Mildred Tope was born 25 January 1851, and died 29 Jan 1884. She married William H. White [note 5].
   Mary and William had six children: --- White, Alice , Laura, Mary K., William, and Berchum White.
7. Richard N. Tope was born 25 September 1852 and died February 25, 1928. Richard married Rebecca Eervin on 4 Mar 1875 in Gallia Co., Ohio [note 6 ]. Richard and Rebecca had three children: Richard E. Tope born 19 Dec 1875, Gallia Co., Ohio, Bert and Clen Tope. Richard  later married Jane Philips and they had one child.
8. Margaret A. Tope was born 4 November 1854 in Walnut, Gallia Co., Ohio, and died 11 July 1930.  She married Jacob N. Carter on 15 August 1872 in Gallia Co., Ohio.  Margaret and Jacob had nine children: -- Carter, Cary Carter, Lena, Frank, Truman, Homer, Effie, Effel,  and Cora Carter.
9. Alva T. Tope was born after 1850, Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 9 December 1890.  He married Josephine Bickle in Gallia County, Ohio [note 7].
1. David Tope was born 8 October 1879, and died 25 November 1966 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.  He married Lillie M. Kemmerling in 1902.
2. Parnie (?) Tope was born 27 May 1882, and died 6 April 1960 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.
3. Frederick R. Tope was born 21 Jan 1884 in Ohio, and died 31 August 1966 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.
4. John C. Tope was born 24 April 1887 in Ohio, and died 24 November 1963 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.
5. Perry Tope.
10. Lauretta A. Tope was born in October 1858an died 13 June 1938.
11. Nancy Catherine Tope (Cassie?)was born after 1850, Carroll Co., Ohio.  She married William Harvey White on 24 November 1886 in Gallia Co., Ohio [note 8]. He was born on 6 November 1849 in Gallia Co., Ohio, and died 27 November 1932 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.  Burial is in Union Cemetery in Columbus.
    Nancy and William had four children: Clarence, Harry, Mabell, and Myrtle White
