     Elza TOPE was born 6 March 1887 in Paulding Co., Ohio, and died 20 September 1959 in Paulding Co., Ohio. Elza married Emma M. HUBERT in Paulding Co., Ohio on 28 January 1901 [note 1]. She was born 17 October 1885, and died 26 March 1971 in Paulding Co., Ohio [note 2]. They are buried in Blue Creek Cemetery, Paulding Co., Ohio [note 3].

Their children:

1. Dorthea TOPE, born in Paulding Co., Ohio; married Nelson BLUE. He was born 9 February 1898 in Champaign Co., Ohio and died 6 March 1958 in Urbana, Champaign Co., Ohio.
2. Ira Frederick TOPE, born 12 November 1912 in Briceton, Paulding Co., Ohio, died 5 July 1998 in Defiance, Defiance Co., Ohio [note 4]. He married Mary Margaret HAINES who was born 16 January 1919 in Grover Hill, Paulding Co., Ohio, and died 7 December 1996 in Paulding Co., Ohio [note 5]. They are buried in Blue Creek Cemetery, Paulding Co., Ohio.
3. August Hiram TOPE, born 31 March 1915 in Paulding Co., Ohio , died 24 July 1932.
   "As a distinct shock to the community came the news that August Hiram Tope, seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Elza Tope, had passed away at the family home in Latty, late Sunday afternoon, after a brief illness of four days. Although his condition had been reported serious, it was not until Sunday believed to be critical and then only known to a comparatively few to be so." [note 6]
   He is buried in Blue Creek Cemetery, Paulding Co., Ohio.
4. Wilbur L. TOPE, born 3 February 1917, and died 8 April 1980 [note 7]. He married Mary Elizabeth Haines who was born 20 May 1925 and died 19 December 1988 in Paulding Co., Ohio [note 8]. Wilbur is buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Paulding Co., Ohio, and Mary in Blue Creek Cemetery, Paulding Co., Ohio.
5. Carl J. TOPE, born in Paulding Co., Ohio. He married Eleanor RIGGENBACH [note 9].  Eleanor was born on 3 June 1924 in Paulding Co., Ohio and died 13 February 2001 in Fort Myers, Lee Co., Florida.
6. Catharine TOPE married Wendell Vance
7. Margaret TOPE married William CLEMENS.
8. Maxine TOPE married Glenn RIGGENBACH [note 10].
