TOPE FAMILY PAGE

   Alvin Douglas Tope, son of Eli Tope and Catherine Rapp, was born 15 February 1861 and died 20 February 1933. Alvin is buried at Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Liberty Twp., Jackson, Co., Ohio. He married Cora Ellen Clewell on 30 April 1891. Cora died 4 January 1959. [ note 1 ]

Alvin and Cora had four children:

1. Mary Marie Tope was born on 13 February 1902, and died on 14 June 1960. She is buried in Pierce Cemetery, Jackson Co., Ohio. She married William Ross [ note 2 ] and had the following children:
   1. Mary Ross
   2. Opal Ross (deceased)
   3. Stella Ross (died in February 2002)
   4. Daisy Ross
   5. Flora Ross Chrisley (died 20 November 2001).
2. Goldie Jane Tope was born 4 April 1905 and died 17 December 1959.  She is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio; married James Grue.
3. Dora Catherine Tope was born 8 September 1910 and died 26 September 1985, Scioto Co., Ohio, buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Scioto Co., Ohio.  Dora married Floyd Crabtree.
4. John Alvin Tope was born 19 July 1913 and died 2 October 1974.  He is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.  John  married Laura ----.
